Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ribeye steak (10 oz)
  • 2 large Russet potatoes

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Take the ribeye steak out of the fridge 30 minutes before cooking. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Slice potatoes into thick strips and rinse in cold water to remove excess starch.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).

  5. In a hot skillet, sear the steak for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  6. In the last minute, add butter and herbs to baste the steak.
