Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 28 oz canned San Marzano tomatoes
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: mince garlic and chop basil.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil until shimmering. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the canned San Marzano tomatoes and their juices. Season with salt and pepper, then let simmer for 15-20 minutes until thickened.
  4. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti in salted boiling water according to package instructions (8-10 minutes) until al dente.
  5. Drain spaghetti, reserving some pasta water. Add drained pasta to the skillet, tossing well to combine. If needed, add reserved pasta water for consistency.
