- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying (enough to cover chicken)
Instructions
- Rinse chicken under cold water and pat dry. Place in a bowl or zip-top bag.
- Pour buttermilk over the chicken until submerged. Marinate in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk and let excess liquid drip off. Dredge in the seasoned flour mixture until coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet to about 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken pieces for 12–15 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
