Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval patties about ½ inch thick and set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, then remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, add beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and any drippings. Stir well.
  5. Return patties to the skillet; cover with gravy and simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes until fully cooked.
  6. Serve topped with gravy alongside mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
