- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans with nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, 2 eggs, melted butter, water, and food coloring until just mixed.
- Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before removing from pans.
- For the cheesecake layer, whisk together cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Add 3 eggs one at a time and vanilla extract; mix until creamy.
- Pour the cheesecake mixture into a greased springform pan and bake at 325°F (160°C) for about 50-60 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center. Cool completely.
