  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine canned pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract; whisk until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. If using, fold in chocolate chips gently.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Allow cooling before cutting into squares.
