  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk
  • 2 ripe mangoes
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until clear, then soak for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain and steam the soaked rice in a cheesecloth-lined steamer for 20-25 minutes until tender.
  3. In a saucepan, heat coconut milk with sugar and salt over medium heat until sugar dissolves; do not boil.
  4. Mix half the coconut sauce into the warm rice and let it sit covered for 30 minutes.
  5. Peel and slice the mangoes thinly.
  6. Serve sticky rice on plates, drizzle with remaining coconut sauce, and garnish if desired.
