- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground lamb or beef, parsley, red onion, garlic, panko breadcrumbs, egg, oregano, cinnamon powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently without overworking the meat.
- With slightly wet hands, shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs in batches until browned on all sides (about 8-10 minutes).
- Optionally add tomato sauce to the skillet after removing meatballs and simmer briefly before returning them to soak up flavors.
- Serve warm with pita or rice and garnish with parsley.
