Description

Greek meatballs are a delightful blend of flavors that will transport your taste buds straight to the Mediterranean. These tender, juicy meatballs are infused with aromatic herbs and spices, making them a perfect addition to any meal. Easy to prepare, they can be served with pasta, pita, or enjoyed on their own with a side salad. Whether it’s a busy weeknight or a cozy family gathering, these flavorful morsels will surely impress.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb or beef, parsley, red onion, garlic, panko breadcrumbs, egg, oregano, cinnamon powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently without overworking the meat.
  2. With slightly wet hands, shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs in batches until browned on all sides (about 8-10 minutes).
  5. Optionally add tomato sauce to the skillet after removing meatballs and simmer briefly before returning them to soak up flavors.
  6. Serve warm with pita or rice and garnish with parsley.
