Beefaroni is a nostalgic comfort dish that combines tender elbow macaroni, savory ground beef, and a rich tomato sauce, topped with gooey cheddar cheese. Perfect for quick weeknight dinners or cozy family gatherings, this homemade version far surpasses the canned equivalent. With minimal prep time and simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful meal that will have everyone asking for seconds!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 15 oz tomato sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients by chopping the onion and mincing the garlic.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Add onions and garlic; sauté until soft (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Stir in tomato sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Cook elbow macaroni in salted water until al dente; drain.
  5. Combine cooked macaroni with beef-tomato mixture; season with salt and pepper.
  6. For extra cheesiness, transfer to a baking dish, top with cheddar cheese, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes until bubbly.
