Description

Indulge in the creamy delight of homemade banana cream pie! With a buttery graham cracker crust, luscious custard filling, and a generous layer of whipped cream, this dessert is a nostalgic treat that brings joy to any gathering. Perfect for summer barbecues or cozy family dinners, this easy-to-make recipe will have everyone asking for seconds!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made graham cracker crust
  • 3 ripe bananas (sliced)
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). If making your own crust, combine crushed graham crackers with melted butter and press into a pie pan. Bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together milk, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla. Stir constantly until thickened (about 10 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before gently folding in sliced bananas.
  4. Pour the banana custard into the cooled crust and spread evenly. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least four hours.
  5. Before serving, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form and spread over the pie. Garnish with banana slices or chocolate shavings if desired.
