Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 8 slices thinly sliced ham
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound until about half an inch thick.
- Season each chicken breast with salt and pepper. Layer ham and Swiss cheese on top.
- Roll each breast tightly around the fillings and secure with toothpicks if needed.
- Prepare three shallow dishes: one with seasoned flour, another with beaten eggs, and the last with panko breadcrumbs. Dredge each roll in flour, then egg, and finally coat with panko.
- Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken rolls until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
- Let rest for a few minutes before slicing to reveal the melty cheese inside.
