Description

Fire cider is a vibrant, spicy tonic that combines the zing of ginger, the punch of garlic, and the tang of raw apple cider vinegar. This invigorating elixir is not only a flavorful addition to your kitchen repertoire but also a natural wellness booster. Perfect for sipping straight or using in dressings and marinades, fire cider is a delightful way to enhance your health while enjoying bold flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup raw apple cider vinegar (unfiltered, organic)
  • 46 inches fresh ginger root (peeled and chopped)
  • 10 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish root (freshly grated)
  • 12 jalapeño peppers (sliced, seeds removed)
  • 3 tablespoons honey (local preferred)
  • Filtered water (enough to fill the jar)

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients by peeling and chopping the ginger, mincing the garlic, chopping the onion, and slicing the jalapeños.
  2. In a large mason jar, layer the ginger, garlic, onion, horseradish, and jalapeños.
  3. Pour raw apple cider vinegar over the ingredients until submerged. Drizzle honey on top and stir gently.
  4. Seal the jar tightly and store it in a cool, dark place for 2-4 weeks; shake gently every few days.
  5. After steeping, strain out solids using cheesecloth into another clean jar. Taste and adjust sweetness with additional honey if desired.
  6. Enjoy your fire cider straight as a shot or mix it into recipes!
