  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat. Drain excess fat, then stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with egg, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, and one-third of the mozzarella. Repeat layering once more.
  6. Finish with remaining meat sauce on top of the final layer of noodles and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden.
