  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup finely chopped bell peppers (red or yellow)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 4 whole wheat buns
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Prep by finely chopping the bell peppers and onions.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil and sauté onions and bell peppers until softened (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. In a bowl, combine sautéed veggies with black beans (lightly mashed), oats, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix well.
  4. Form the mixture into four equally-sized patties.
