  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Stir in chopped parsley and red pepper flakes; cook for another minute.
  4. Drain the pasta, reserving some cooking water. Add the pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan and parsley if desired.
