Ingredients
- All-Purpose Flour
- Granulated Sugar
- Brown Sugar
- Unsalted Butter
- Baking Soda
- Salt
- Eggs
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- Cream Cheese
- Sour Cream
- Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Gradually mix in sifted all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
- For the cheesecake filling, blend cream cheese, sour cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest (if using) until smooth.
- Scoop about a tablespoon of cookie dough, flatten it in your palm, and place a teaspoon of cheesecake filling in the center. Wrap the dough around the filling and roll into a ball.
- Place on the prepared baking sheets with space between each ball. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown at the edges but soft in the center.
- Allow to cool briefly on sheets before transferring to wire racks.
