Description

Indulge in a classic Boston Cream Pie, featuring layers of tender vanilla cake, luscious custard, and rich chocolate glaze—a dessert that promises to impress at any gathering!

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Baking Powder
  • Whole Milk
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Large Eggs
  • Pure Vanilla Extract
  • Cornstarch
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips or Bar
  • Heavy Cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually mix this with the dry ingredients without overmixing.
  4. Divide batter between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  5. To make the custard, heat milk with sugar, cornstarch, egg yolks, and vanilla over medium heat until thickened (about 5-7 minutes).
  6. For ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering; pour over chopped chocolate and stir until smooth.
  7. Assemble by layering one cake with half the custard, adding the second layer on top. Spread remaining custard and finish with ganache.
